We want your special event to be beautiful, stress-free and full of joy. Below are some of our most frequently asked questions so you feel confident and prepared for your day at Black Bird Farm.
You may start your day at the Farm at 9AM.
Our staff takes care of setting up all of our tables, chairs and any of our wedding props. for you before your rental begins. When you arrive on your wedding day, everything should be in it’s chosen place. With the help of your assigned person, our crew will help to and load all of your decor and personal belongings. The crew will take care of all the trash and clean up. You are responsible to retrieve all wedding gifts and valuables.
The Barn comes with cafe string lights.
We do offer a sparkler send off. The BlackBird Farm will take care of providing the correct number of sparklers for your wedding guest for a small fee.
Open flames anre not permitted in the barn at any time.
We invite all of our couples to decorate and make Black Bird Farm their own! We will be happy to assist you with any extra lighting or other decor you would like to incorporate into what is already there. Any decor that needs to be hung or attached to the barn, needs to be approved and hung or attached by a Black Bird Farm staff member. Any decorations that you add to the space are your responsibility, as anything left behind after the rental period will likely be discarded during our staff’s clean up process.
We have 20 handmade farmhouse tables 9’x40”. Each table seats 10. There are 200 black cross back chairs. (they will be adding handmade high tops onto the patio)
In accordance with Putnam County ordinance, Black Bird Farm has a curfew of 11:00pm. This means music is off at 11:00pm and EVERYONE must be gone by midnight.
The barn is an authentic barn built in 1909. There is no heating or cooling in the barn. However, we do allow fans or propane heaters to be brought in.
The barn is 4,500 square feet, with a max seating capacity of 200.
Black Bird Farm is fully capable of hosting a ceremony inside the barn in the event of inclement weather.
Yes, a one hour rehearsal is included with your venue rental. If you would like to have your rehearsal dinner here as well, there is an additional fee and will add 2 more hours.
If you feel you will need extra time for decorating and want to pick up the day after, please choose “The Weekender” package. This package was designed for just that.
No, not at this time. We would be happy to refer you to our favorite coordinator.
There is grass parking that can accommodate 200 cars.
We require a retaining fee of 50% down and the remaining balance due 30 days before your event. At the time, we do not accept payment plans.
Catering & Bar Questions.
We are currently in the process of attaining our liquor license. Once it is established, we will then publish our Bar Packages and Pricing.
Yes, you may choose your own caterer. They must be a licensed caterer with all the proper licenses and insurance required by the state of Ohio.
We provide table service for the head table ONLY, for up to 22 place settings.
